Workout aids are all around you! Today, we have a few tips for how to use household items in your exercises.
Beginner—Try a chair workout. Many workout routines can be performed while seated or holding onto a chair. This is especially great for people who may struggle with balance. Find workouts on YouTube or through an exercise program like SilverSneakers ® or Renew Active™.
Intermediate—Use a chair to supplement balance exercises, squats, or stretches.
Advanced—A basic wall is helpful for several moves, like wall sits—balance your back against the wall and “sit” down as if on a chair—or legs up wall—lay with your back flat against the floor or a bed, bent at the waist with your legs up on the wall.
